Wisdom Teeth

About Wisdom Teeth

Third molars are commonly referred to as your wisdom teeth. They are usually the last teeth to develop and are located in the back of your jaws. With an oral examination and x-rays, Drs. Baber, Baker, Lewis can evaluate the wisdom teeth and make a recommendation regarding extraction.

Removal

Impacted wisdom teeth are often removed before they are fully developed. For some patients this may occur in the early teenage years but for others it may not be until their twenties. Impacted wisdom teeth may be associated with a number of problems including cavities, infections, cysts, and may even cause damage to the adjacent teeth. Wisdom teeth may also contribute to the crowding of your other teeth, but their role in this situation has not been clearly determined through scientific studies. Our board-certified experts provide the practice and care you need for the removal of wisdom teeth.
